April 4, 2025 - Friday
Fell asleep very early last night to the pitter patter of rain on the fiber glass roof. Up and on the road by 5:30am! Again we are playing leapfrog with the weather and so far we have been very lucky. No rain today although we expected it. Cloudy skies which I prefer when driving.
Crossed over to Illinois
Crossed into Indiana (terrible roads) and Eastern Standard Time Zone.
Crossed into Ohio
Crossed into Pennsylvania
I drove for a couple of hours at the end of the trip. Pulled into Presque Isle RV Park, Erie, PA. Got settled, went for a walk around the park, ate TV dinners - then to bed. Tomorrow is the big day that we arrive home. I have notified the 4 grands to be on alert to help unload us.
April 5, 2025 - Saturday
Rise ’n shine at 4:45am to the sound of rain for the last leg of this journey - destination HOME. Thankfully, Rich drove the entire time today due to rain.
This sign came off the internet as the real sign was not that visible at 5:45am in the rain.
WELCOME TO MASSACHUSETTS
Sad to say that this was the day I broke my walking streak on Day 188! The excuse I have is that we drove for 7 hours in the rain which did not stop after we pulled into the front yard. My kids and grandkid crew came to unload the camper and share lots of hugs and catching up. Soooo much to do to get settled in. Felt so good to hug these munchkins💕
We were starving and spent, so went to the Locker Room down the street for a quick sandwich. Early to bed and that was that. NO WALK!!!
April 6, 2025 - Sunday
Stepped on the scale and lost a pound! We both lost 20 pounds this winter and it feels good - more energy, less aches and pains, loose clothing… Went to church in person - happy to see fellow worshipers and singers.
Back on track with a walk with Sharon on this damp, chilly, cloudy day. We actually went 2.25 miles which made me feel better about not walking Saturday.
April 7, 2025 - Monday
Lazy day to focus on unpacking and organizing, as well as opening the large box of mail my mother received all winter. Yuck! Mostly health insurance papers. I am now paperless!
Since it is SNOWING today, I chose my walking time carefully.
Spent the afternoon trying to set up my printer with my house internet - GRRRRR!
April 8, 2025 - Tuesday
Found a phone number advertised on Google - talk to a HUMAN for HP Support. Called the number - wrong number! After another hour of reading, testing, confusion, I got the dang printer set up - don’t even ask me how it happened.
I played a couple of tunes on the ukulele for the first time in close to a week. It felt good.
Went for my walk before the wind came up - it was 30 degrees and a little windy. Nora, Rich’s daughter, came over for a visit. We went to the Locker Room for an early dinner.
April 9, 2025 - Wednesday
Temps dropped to the 20’s last night! Yikes! I waited until early afternoon to take a brisk walk with a warm winter hat on. Went to the final week of the church’s book club (The Last Week) which they had recorded for me to watch while I was away. It was very powerful to be there in person for the discussion leading into Holy Week.
April 10, 2025 - Thursday
Weighed in and I have lost 25 pounds since October - Yahoo! Another cold day, but I had a nice luncheon with 11 gals in the class of 1965. Fun to catch up with everyone.
In spite of the freezing temps, these daffodils are standing strong!
I will be publishing once a month for the summer. If you want to OPT OUT on this blog - I get it. Just reply to the email and say STOP! No problem.
