March 21. 2025 - Friday
Do nothing day except for the usual walk.
March 22, 2025 - Saturday
We weighed in today and did good again! I took my walk around the park as always. Since Terri and Jim are attending a wedding today…
…we went to an early lunch to try another Dim Sum.
I think they are about even regarding choices and taste. We decided to add Chicken Wings and Custard Shells to the mix.
We took a lot of it home for later and devoured it while watching the Davis Monthan AFB Air Show. I am told that sometimes the vibrations from low flying jets are so loud that they set off car alarms en masse.
March 23. 2025 - Sunday. HAPPY 95TH BIRTHDAY TO MOM!
Can’t believe she is 95, still doing so many things independently - living alone, driving, tracking our iPhones, grocery shopping, caring for her beloved Sadie kitty, expressing her views on Facebook, etc. The project that Terri and I have been working on with sisters, Cindy and Leslie, back East is a digital card from friends and family which ended up having 36 video clips and 161 photos throughout the years. An amazing tribute for an amazing woman. She was thrilled.
Another celebration on my 175th day streak with tracking WW and daily walking!
We went to Terri and Jim’s in the afternoon for great conversation and cocktails. Since it is getting hotter in the sun, we moved under the patio roof - a totally different POV than we’ve had before…
Dinner was flank steaks and mixed grains with green beans - I could really tell the difference in the garlic used. We just bought it at the Tucson Craft Fair.
Watched Last of the Mohicans at night. Great movie!
March 24, 2025 - Monday
Walked at 7:30 while still cool. Today went up to 88 degrees and I find a shady area next to bushes is a perfect place to walk and get shade. Lazy day, as Monday’s usually are. Played a little music in preparation for our last “concert” for Mom Parsons on Friday. Tonight we watched The Magnificent Seven - another great one! I know I watched this years ago, but totally forgot most of it.
March 25, 2025 - Tuesday
Warm night, but got a good sleep. Pat and I walked today at 10:30 in spite of the 83 degrees at that hour. Can’t tell you what a relief the gentle breeze was during our trek.
March 26, 2025 - Wednesday
Walked in the shade at 7:30am, Rich and I went to get our toes done, and then did our last stock-up before we hit the road on Monday! Hard for me to believe we have been here for 2 months already! Getting ready for our departure - physically, practically and emotionally. Ugh!
Got a wonderful FaceTime call tonight from granddaughter, Leanna❤️❤️
Day 100 of my Spanish DuoLingo streak!
March 27, 2025- Thursday
Amazingly, we both lost weight again this week! I am soooooo close to my personal target threshold. Today was Pat’s and my last walk in Tucson. We hope to get a walk in at Deming's Dream Catcher RV Park - she and Rich both managed that park in the past. We will be stopping over which coincides with her brief stay. She has decided to sell her motorhome and move into her own suite at her daughter’s home here in Tucson.
Went to Terri and Jim’s to begin our last weekend festivities. Laundry, practice for tomorrow’s “concert” for Jim’s Mom - 94 years old. Dinner and cocktails... pasta a la Terri with spicy chicken sausage, mushrooms and peas. Yum!
Until next week, tata…
It is warming up here at North Ranch too. We are coming to the end of Park Beautification for the year. Hope you have a uneventful trip back East.
ReplyDeleteTell Terri and Jim they look wonderful 💜! I got home Monday and it’s snowed twice🙀! See you soon ! Dshep
ReplyDeleteWeather is spring-like plus here. Temps are Rollercoaster. The only constant is wind, wind and more wind. Lost part if our 2 year old roof and it's tarped waiting for the wind to die down so it can be repaired. I wouldn't want to be driving a high profile vehicle about now. Kibb
ReplyDeleteGive our best to your Mom! From all the VW’s!!
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday to Mom. Great picture of her and her cat. Safe travels. See you soon 🥰
ReplyDeleteYour photos are getting better and better. These are beautiful.
